| August 2008 If you’re age 4 or 104, 14 or 44, 8 or 58... The easiest, healthiest, most profi table school fundraiser is back, and now you can be a part of it without having to sell anything! The Greenville Track Club and BI-LO have paired up to hold the fourth running of the Fit’s Cool School Challenge. Included in this packet is everything you need to sign up and start earning money for your school. Here’s how it works. The Fit’s Cool School Challenge consists of four different footraces. Students, PTA members, teachers, staff, corporate friends, family members and friends of the school can all participate this school year. Simply write down the name of your favorite elementary or middle school on your entry form. The more people that choose your school and fi nish the race, the more your school’s PTA could earn. Since we’re basing prizes on percentages this year, even smaller schools can compete head-to-head with large schools. Prizes range from $250 to $1,000 for the winners of each race. Not only that, but BI-LO is giving you another way to earn money for your school. Encourage your school supporters to sign up for BI-LO’s boostersplus® program. Each elementary school and middle school is then eligible to have their boosterplus funds doubled if they win any of the Fit’s Cool School Challenge races. That’s a potential $6,000 to add to your winnings! For more detailed information see the enclosed materials or contact the race directors below. Make sure to review the checklist carefully and to submit all the required materials on time. Start your training now! We’ll see you at the races! Get ‘Em in Early! Get your team packets in early! Our advice is to pre-register at least four weeks in advance (a full eight weeks for Reedy). In the rush before each race, your students might not write legibly or forget to include their school’s name on the entry forms. We’d hate for your school to lose easy cash that way! |
Note: Race managers reserve the right to delay announcement of, rescind, or re-announce the school challenge award winners if discrepancies arise. If someone attends or works for more than one school, he or she can vote for only one school per footrace. If a staff group from a school district wins or if an organized group of home-school students wins, we can discuss which education-oriented 501(3)c not-for-profi t organization will receive the monetary award. If a school wins two races within one boostersplus term (Aug-Dec or Jan-May), the boostersplus check will only be doubled once, not twice, during that term. |
